Can I become a member if I don’t live in the United States? Absolutely! All Kitty Hawk events will take place in the US, however you can still join and receive exclusive, behind-the-scenes content and product updates before the general public, as well as members-only Kitty Hawk gear.

What type of vehicle is the Kitty Hawk Flyer? The Flyer is an ultralight aircraft.

When can I get a Kitty Hawk Flyer? The Flyer will go on sale by the end of 2017.

How much will the vehicle cost? We will disclose the price when we launch the product later this year.

Will the Flyer look like the prototype? The go-to-market Flyer will have a different design than the prototype Flyer that appears in our April 2017 photos and videos.

Can I purchase a vehicle if I’m located outside of the US? We do not intend to restrict the location from which you place an order for the Flyer except for embargoed countries, however we do not have current plans to ship the vehicle abroad. If you would like to ship abroad, we recommend that you research the regulatory requirements and delivery options that are available where you live. You would need to take possession within the US and make your own delivery arrangements afterward.

What FAA category does the vehicle fall under? The Flyer operates in the FAR 103 Ultralight Category of US FAA regulations. It does not require registration or a pilot’s license and may be flown in uncongested areas for recreational purposes.

Where can I fly the vehicle? The Flyer may be flown in uncongested areas in the US and is designed to be flown over fresh water.

Can I operate the Flyer on land? No. The Flyer is designed to be flown over fresh water.

Can I operate the Flyer in a city? No. The Flyer may be flown in uncongested areas of the US and is designed to be flown over fresh water.

Is a pilot’s license required to operate the Flyer? You do not need a pilot’s license to operate the Flyer in the US.
